New student orientation, or Incept as well call it, is the official Georgia State University new undergraduate student orientation program. Incept is required for new freshman and strongly encouraged for new transfer students. Our programs are designed to introduce you to the unique world of Georgia State and prepare you to make the most of both your academic and co-curricular experiences.
Each year, we welcome more than 3,200 freshman, 1,200 transfer students, and 3,500 parents and guests. We have a team of student leaders, we can them Inceptors, who will be at each Incept to provide you with guidance throughout the day and provide you with information about important resources for making the most of your transition to Georgia State University.
Student register for Incept through their PAWS account online, and registration is available on a first come, first served basis. Make sure you register for your Incept day as soon as you can. If you need further information about Incept including information about check-in, parking, directions as well as before Incept checklists for students and parents, please take a look around the website.
