What is Incept: New Student Orientation?
Incept: New Student Orientation within the Division of Student Affairs is the official Georgia State University new undergraduate student orientation program. Incept is required for new freshman and strongly encouraged for new transfer students. The programs are designed to introduce you to the unique world of Georgia State and prepare you to make the most of both your academic and co-curricular experiences.
There are several Incept options which can meet your specific needs at a time that’s convenient to your schedule. There are one day and two day orientation programs for new freshman students and one day and ½ day orientation programs for new transfer students. There is also a special parent and guest orientation program which runs concurrently with all student programs.

“Incept helped me realize all the countless opportunities I had. Regardless of what anyone else told me, what other schools tried to sell to me, and any of my pre-college fears, Incept opened my eyes to the great student I would become at Georgia State!” Breeana Minton, Sophomore, Economics
“Because of Incept, I became much more comfortable with my choice to transfer to Georgia State. I fell in love with this University at Incept, and I know that because I went to Incept I adjusted better than some other transfer students that didn’t attend.” Brandi Giles, Junior, Journalism
